Jobe rider Jason Young on the roll!
22 maj 2014
Over the last few weeks, Jobe rider and current British SKI GP Champ Jason Young, has really had to work for a living. With the 2014 jetski season kicking into life, first of all the 1st Round of the European Jetski Championship was being held in the picturesque resort of Eau d’Heure in Belgium. Where the TG Forklifts rider was looking to build on last season’s performance and challenge for a top 5 position against some of the best riders in the world coming from as far afield as Dubai and ranging across 14 countries. With the dreaded European Log Jump as challenging as ever the Champney Springs sponsored rider was looking for a strong start, which after the first 3 moto’s he found himself sitting in 6th position overall and gaining confidence after each race.
Then as soon as he arrives back in the UK, he jumped straight into the British Championship. The second round which was being held at Leisure Lakes, near Preston the Scotsman was looking to claw back the 21 points deficit that his old arch rival Simon Gill had gained from the 1st round. The Jetshed rider wasn’t going to disappoint his supporters with a blistering weekends racing where he not only competed in the SKI GP Class but also made an appearance in the stock class as well. He went on to win 5 from the 6 races over the weekend and dropping only 7 points from the maximum tally of 360, which was a fantastic achievement and put him into 1st place overall for the SKI GP class and showed the real class of the two times British Champion and also proved to his rivals that if they are going to try to take his crown this year they are going to have to be at the top of their game….
So with a couple of weeks rest he will then move onto the 3rd round of the British Championship which is being held in conjunction with The Cholmondeley Pageant of Power which takes place at Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire.
