Jobe / Jstar rider in the spotlight
13 agosto 2010
Jobe / Jstar Dutch wakeboard rider Michael Nieuwerf is just 17 years old but already well known in the wakeboard scene. Michael is a Jobe / Jstar team rider for quite a while now, so in this way we want to give you an update about his busy wakeboard career.
This season Michael participated in a couple of wakeboard competitions, in among others Leipzig, Marburg and Nethen. At the competition in Nethen he took third place, which confirmed that he was in shape and ready to roll in the upcoming World Championships. Unfortunately at the last moment the Dutch Water Ski and Wakeboard Union decided that a qualification round had to be organized where one of the four Dutch participants had to fall of with the consequence of not participating in the Worlds. Because of the fact, that Michael fell with one of his tricks during this competition he was the one who was not allowed to participate in the Worlds. He was very disappointed, especially since he had look so forward to it. After all, it does not discourage Michael to try harder at the upcoming competitions, the WWA Protest Cable Call, the Dutch Championships and the European Championships in Turkey. At the Corana Wakeboard Event in Scheveningen (Netherlands) which took place from the 25th until the 27th of July Michael took on the first day 1st place and on the second day shared 1st place. These results show that Michael is in good shape and ready to rock!!
Good luck at the upcoming competitions Michael!
