Jennifer Ménard competes at Pont L’Evéque

French Jet Ski team rider Jennifer Ménard competed at the Big East Championships at Pont L’Evéque in Normandy, France last weekend. The competition followed up the first round of the Big West Championships, which took place in Bridge Upper Bishop, Normandy.
This race was an endurance race, composed out of three sets of 20 minutes. Unlike the Big West Championships, which Jennifer usually participates in, this race was setup with a so-called "24 hours of Le Mans" start. This is done in such a way that all racers are lined up on the beach and have to run up to their Jet Skis when the flag drops!
For this first heat, a total of 12 racers showed up. After twenty minutes of regulation time Jennifer placed in 3rd position. The second heat started on Sunday morning and Jennifer finished 5th. After the first two rounds, Jennifer sits in the overall 3rd spot, with another racer.
This means that everything came down to the last round. The final heat started and the racers gunned it for 20 minutes straight. After a great start, Jennifer managed to take 3rd place and keep it for 4 laps. Eventually, it unfortunately turned out that she made an error during the race, forcing her to take the buoy penalty and therefore losing her 3rd place.
All in all, it was a very good month for training and still a pretty good result, considering she finished in 4th place in Ski F1! Jennifer and her team hopes to see you this weekend for the second round of the Big East Championships, to be held in Liverdun.
