Find your perfect wetsuit

16 marzo 2016

A wetsuit is an important addition to your water sports equipment and it can improve your watersports experience. They are not only for giving you warmth but also ensure protection while you are on the water (check out this article to read why having a wetsuit is important for you). The next step would be to choose the right wetsuit for your needs. There are many factors that play an important role in this decision. Read on to get to know which wetsuit is perfect for you!

Weather conditions
First, It’s important to know in which weather condition you are going to use the wetsuit. You can then decide whether you need a full suit or a shorty. Full suits with coverage for your entire arms and legs are used under cold and average water temperatures. Enjoying water sports during these days? Our thicker wetsuits with neoprene are perfect for winter and early spring days when you need added warmth. The wetsuits are provided with thick neoprene pieces on the back, chest panel, arm and legs. Depending on the warmth you need a more or less mm of neoprene in the wetsuit. Besides that, a shorty wetsuit is perfect when you want to enjoy watersports when the water is pleasant. They give you some warmth when necessary and provides you a maximum freedom of movement.

Thickness of the wetsuit
Earlier we already told you about the neoprene pieces on our wetsuits. Jobe wetsuits are made with the latest innovations and made from the best materials available. In our wetsuits we make use of different thicknesses. When you see on the product page 5/4/3 it means the wetsuit has 5mm neoprene on the chest and back, while the arms and legs have 4 and 3 mm neoprene. A 5/4/3 wetsuits is warmer than, for example, a 4/3 wetsuit or even a 3/2: the neoprene in these wetsuits is thinner so better for more pleasant weather conditions.

Keeping out the water
Depending on the water temperature, you might not want the water to enter your wetsuit. For example, our wetsuits with a back zipper have a chillblocker. The chillblocker ensure no water enters your wetsuit through the zipper, a real musthave when you enter cold water! The high-end wetsuits, like the Yukon, are featured with an Aquablock feature, the Aquablock keeps water out, making this feature the ultimate zipper option to stay warm and dry. Besides the zippers, water is able to enter your wetsuit through the seams as well. Jobe wetsuits generally make use of the Xtend force technology. The Xtend Force is a wetsuit technology for an optimal flex and warmth. It uses a double seam technology. On top of the seams, we places a fluid rubber tape for added durability and isolation of warmth. By doing this, the wetsuits are warmer and more flexible.

Flexibility
Depending on your favorite type of watersport, you should also decide how flexible your wetsuit should be. Riding your PWC requires less flexibility than performing a backroll to revert on your wakeboard. Jobe wetsuits are flexible and therefore, you are not hindered in your movements. Our more technically advanced wetsuits make use of the nuclear flex technology, the gymnast construction is as flexible as you can get it!

Size
Now that you know better which wetsuit is the best for you, make sure to buy the wetsuit in the right size. This is important to benefit from all the advantages of the wetsuit. Not sure about your size? Check out these size tables on the product page.

Follow these steps and get your perfect wetsuit. See you on the water!
