Sjors van de Kerkhof and Jobe separate after 16 years
20 march 2014
Sjors van de Kerkhof has decided to leave the Jobe cable team this year. read the press release we've send out to our media partners below:
Sjors van de Kerkhof was one of Jobe’s first cable riders in the Netherlands, and got sponsored by Jobe right from the start. Recently Sjors made up his mind and decided to leave Jobe after 16 years. He wants to take a new path in his wakeboarding carreer and he’s going to board for a different brand.
His choice has nothing to do with the cooperation between him and Jobe. Sjors choses to be wakeboarding in a team with his closest friends.
Sjors van de Kerkhof:‘’ from day one Jobe supported me to the fullest to get me to where I am now. I’m very grateful for that and I’ve really enjoyed our 16 year long cooperation. The choice of leaving Jobe is just based on friendship. I've got the opportunity to work with some of my closest friends and in that way I hope to experience even more beautiful wakeboarding moments!’’.
Jobe was Sjors' second home and they did mean a lot for each other. They've always worked together with great pleasure and decided to end the relationship on good terms. Jobe’s Marketing & Communication manager Henk van der Werf wants to emphasize the fact that Sjors meant a lot for Jobe:
” I think Sjors is an icon for all athletes. He lives for the sport and always has been living for the sport. He was always dutiful to his sponsors. He was a precursor right from the beginning and in that way he also made himself commercially attractive. Our cooperation has always been a win-win situation. I thank Sjors a lot for being a big part of our brand’s growth and the growth of cable wakeboarding in the Netherlands”.
