How to start stand up paddling at your favourite spot on the water?
28 december 2017
So you have decided to start practicing the fastest growing watersport on the planet; what’s next? Well, it’s easy as 1, 2, 3: decide about a location and then just simply travel towards that location! Some tips.
Where to SUP
The most important thing to know is that you can SUP at every (type of) water. If you are going for your first SUP-trip, you might want to choose for flat water. This helps to keep your balance a little bit better. Think of a nice lake or river outside the city to enjoy Mother Nature. However, paddling in the city can be just a nice. For example, search for some stairs in the quay to get down easy and start discovering your city! Just keep in mind that the waters in a city can be a little bit more crowded. But it is still much better to move over the cities’ waterways then getting stuck in a traffic-jam! Only thing to keep in mind is that a city can sometimes forbid to go to certain areas (think of cultural protection zones or dangerous waters). Just make sure to pay attention to signings and you’ll be all right!

How to get you stand up paddle board to the location
This is much easier than you would think.
Inflatable paddle boards are easy to transport because they fit in an easy-to-carry backpack. Put it in your car, on your back while you’re riding your bike or walking, or take it with you in the train or even airplane: the options are endless to get to your favorite location. Your inflatable stand up paddle board can travel with you everywhere and on every way you like. The best thing is that a Jobe SUP is really lightweight:
only 9 kilograms! Travelling was never this easy.
Where to store your belongings
So you finally got to your location. The only thing left to do is inflating your SUP and get on the water! But: you still have some essential belongings with you that got you to this location and you want to take these with you on the water. Think of (car) keys, extra clothes, drinks or food. What to do with these? We also thought about that: just store them in the waterproof backpack. You can easily put the backpack under the storage cords of your board to take it with you. The only thing left to do now is enjoy your paddle-session!
